WILD CONNECTIONS
Adventurous Networking for Environment and Sustainability Professionals
ABOUT WILD CONNECTIONS
Wild Connections has been established to facilitate professional networking for Environmental and Sustainability professionals in an adventurous outdoor setting.

Based in the magnificent Cairngorms National Park, guided day trips and overnight expeditions allow Environment and Sustainability professionals to connect with each other and to reconnect with nature and the purpose of their work.

Wild Connections was set up by Joel Paterson, a Chartered Environmentalist, as an alternative to the usual indoor conferences and networking events. Joel decided to use his qualification as a Mountain Leader and his passion for the natural environment to do networking differently.

OUTDOOR NETWORKING
"In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks." - John Muir
Based around Aviemore, small groups of up to 8 people will be guided on either one, two or three day expeditions into the heart of the magnificent Cairngorms National Park in the Scottish Highlands.

The route and duration of each trip will be determined by the ability and ambitions of the group and the weather conditions. The main aim is to develop collaborative networks and meaningful connections through shared experiences in some of Scotland's most spectacular wild places. The connections can be with other like-minded professionals, with the natural environment or a sense of purpose in your work and career.

ENVIRONMENTÂ & SUSTAINABILITY COMMITMENT
As environmental and sustainability professionals, we want to do our best for Scotland’s incredible natural environment and contribute to sustainable business in Scotland.

Public Transport
We actively encourage the use of public transport and can provide a breakdown of travel options prior to any trip. Our decision to be based around Aviemiore allows clients to make use of the public transport options available such as the Caledonia Sleeper Train.

We also encourage the use of car sharing wherever possible (subject to Covid restrictions) and can help clients to make arrangements ahead of a trip.

Use Local
To support the local economy we recommend using local, independent accommodation and services wherever possible.

Low Impact
We operate in remote, sensitive locations. For that reason, we only operate with small groups and encourage our clients to consider their interaction with the environments they are passing through wherever possible and to leave no trace.

Minimise Waste
Our office and administration system is almost entirely paper free and we aim to keep it that way.
